The maxillary sinus is one of the four paranasal sinuses located in the upper jaw region right behind the cheekbones. If the mucus from the maxillary sinus is prevented from draining, this may cause maxillary sinus infection which is deeply embedded and is very hard to treat. Some of the most common causes of infection often include flu and cold, fungal infections, deviated septum and dental problems such as infected teeth or gums. In some minor cases, home remedies can already provide you relief from <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://natural-sinus-relief.com/maxillary-sinus-infections/”> maxillary sinus infections </a>. These home remedies can be any of the following:
Nasal irrigation – this is considered as a natural way to treat <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://natural-sinus-relief.com/maxillary-sinus-infections/”> maxillary sinus infections </a>. What you need to do is to get a 10mL plastic syringe, a teaspoon and a cup, and 100mL sodium bicarbonate powder for the main ingredient. Mix a teaspoon of the powder and a cup of water to make a solution, fill the syringe with the mixed solution and then use it to inject the contents into one nostril and let it out on the other nostril. Blow out the remaining solution along with the mucus as gently as possible and repeat the same procedure starting from the other nostril. A neti pot can be a good alternative if a syringe is not available.
Garlic – has natural antifungal and antibacterial properties which can cure maxillary sinus infection which is often due to bacterial or fungal infestation. You can use it by steeping one clove in a hot cup of tea, in a capsule form, or crushed the cloves and add it into a pot of hot water then inhale the steam coming from it. You may do this at least 3 times a day for a more fruitful result.
Diet – <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://natural-sinus-relief.com/maxillary-sinus-infections/”> maxillary sinus infections </a> may be due to food allergies as well. If you try to eliminate certain foods in your diet, this can help you clear the condition in no time. If you are suffering from chronic maxillary sinus infection, avoid consuming eggs, wheat, chocolate, dairy products, bananas, corn and peanuts as much as possible. If you are not certain of what food is causing the allergic reactions, you may check with your doctor and have a blood testing to determine which food should be avoided.
Apple Cider Vinegar – this is considered a natural prescription for all types of ailments. Just like garlic, apple cider vinegar has natural antifungal and antibacterial properties, and can help reduce mucus production as well.
Vaporizers – using warm steam vapors can provide relief from sinus infections. This can also help thin the thickened mucus which comes with sinus infections. Aside from that, it can also soothe the membranes to gain full relief.
